To re-create the Cobram Air Races and honour my Father's contribution to competition flying , this event was scheduled for June at VMAA State Field Melbourne. To comply with the Area Approval, right hand circuits initiated to increase safety and remain within the property boundaries. This was published in the rules six months earlier. One month out a number of competitors refused to enter unless the circuit direction was changed. Event handed over to Large Scale Racing Club. Which cancelled due to a weather and unfavourable, yet still flyable, forecast
I then pitched the event to the PDARCS committee. Application refused. My credentials were deemed somewhat lacking to conduct an event at this field
